Charles Leonard Everett, of Talking Rock, GA, passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 79 after years of complications with the rare condition, Achalasia.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents: Charles Lee and Ellen Everett and his younger brother Dale Everett.

Charles is survived by his wife Nadine of 59 years, his daughter Kristi Davenport and her husband Michael, his son Wayne Everett and his wife Sherrie, and his grandchildren Colton Everett and his wife Kiara, Casen Everett, and Kara Davenport. Charles was a strong and loving husband, dad, and grandpa.

Charles served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Charles bravely served his country in Eastern Europe and accomplished many things during his service including holding a marksmanship record at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and served alongside many nations' special forces including America's own Green Berets.

Charles was an avid marksman and spent the majority of his time on the trap and skeet field. His specialty was the handicap event, one of the most notoriously difficult events in trap shooting. He won several local tournaments in the state of Georgia and also was a world champion at the Grand American World handicap trap shooting event. Charles was greatly involved at his local gun club serving his fellow shooters by assisting in the club's operations and by organizing local action pistol shoots. Charles was the epitome of sportsmanship and made sure all were welcome and had a safe and fun time.

Charles was saved at the age of 14 and was a faithful member at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Here, he served his church on the finance team and safety patrol. Prior, Charles served as a deacon and treasurer at Victory Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia. Charles believed in sharing the love of Jesus Christ by being a good steward in everything that he did.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November, 1st, 2022 at Mt.Zion Baptist Church: 1036 N Main St, Jasper, GA 30143 with visitation from 10AM-12PM with the service starting promptly at noon.

Inurnment will take place at 10AM on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery: 2025 Mount Carmel Church Ln. Canton, GA 30114.
