Doretha Ann Williams, born on November 28, 1951, departed this life on March 23, 2025, in Carroll County, Georgia. Doretha lived a life dedicated to serving others and sharing her faith, having owned and operated Women and Men Christian Recovery Homes. Her profound love for the gospel of Jesus resonated deeply with all who had the privilege to know her.
A product of the Detroit Public School system, Doretha carried her educational experiences into her lifelong mission of uplifting those around her. Her unwavering commitment to helping others during their times of need was a cornerstone of her character, and she made a lasting impact in the lives of many through her compassionate work.
Doretha is survived by her beloved daughter, Monique Franklin; her cherished grandson, Kristian Franklin; and her devoted grandpuppy, Chance the Pit. She is also remembered fondly by her brothers, Raymond Turner and William Turner, along with his wife, Carla. Doretha leaves behind a host of nephews: Damen Turner, Raynard Turner, and Walter IV Turner; and nieces LaTasha (Glenn), LaToya (Bruce), and Monique "Nikki." Additionally, her loving cousins Yvette Jenkins, Marilyn Prince (Charles), Ruth Marshall (Kwajo), Charla Jenkins, Susan Hardy (Ed) and Derrick Pinkett stand as part of her extensive family network, which includes many great nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will carry her memory forward.
Doretha is preceded in death by her father, Walter L. Turner, Jr.; her mother, Ruth E. Turner; her brother, Walter L. Turner, III; and her nephews, Raymond Deondre Turner and Anthony Turner. Their love and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
As we reflect on Doretha Ann Williams' life, we honor her dedication to faith, family, and service, celebrating the deep and lasting legacy she leaves behind. Her spirit will be profoundly missed, as she was not just a guiding light to many but also a loving family member and dear friend whose compassion knew no bounds.
