Ethel Grace (Dixie) Casteel

Ethel Grace (Dixie) Casteel, age 91, of Loganville, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020.

Dixie was born in Washburn, Maine to Lucinda and Clair Clayton on March 27th, 1929. She attended Zion Bible College in Barrington, Rhode Island, and graduated in 1949, with honors, giving the valedictorian speech at graduation. She then attended University of Maine from 1950- 1952. She married the love of her life, George Lee Casteel, Jr., on October 1st, 1952 at Presque Isle, Maine Air Force Base, and moved to Georgia in 1954 where she lived out the remainder of her days. She loved her Lord and Savior and was an active member in church, teaching children at Sunday School for over 40 years.

Dixie is preceded in death by her husband George and is survived by her children, George and Carol Casteel of Roswell, Ga; David and Rita Casteel of Lilburn, Ga; and Tim and Donna Casteel of Lilburn, Ga; Grandchildren: Christy Vettese of Winder, Ga; Lyndsey and Daniel Hart of Loganville, Ga; Jenny Casteel of Duluth, Ga; Lee Casteel of Pooler, Ga; Melissa & Ben Angley of Newnan, Ga; Clint and Vedrana Casteel of Lilburn, Ga; and Stephen and Elisa Casteel of Roswell, Ga; Great-Grandchildren: Andrew, Hayley, and Jacob Vettese, Skylar and Kaden Wall, Drake Casteel, Claire and Eli Angley, Kaja Casteel, Caden Chatham, and Lucas Hart.

The family of Ethel Casteel wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital as well as the staff at Grandview Healthcare Center in Jasper, Ga, for taking such good care of our mother in her last days.
