Jackie (Jack) West, Sr.

Jackie (Jack) E. West, age 86, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away April 1, 2023. Jack was born on February 10, 1937, to Daniel P. West and Flora M. Burrows. On August 24, 1963, he married Vickie D. Lankford. Jack was raised in Oswego, Kansas. Upon high school graduation he joined the Unites States Air Force. During his term in the U.S. Air Force, he received the Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award. He was originally stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY, where his grandson is currently stationed. Jack left the Air Force with the rank of Senior Airman E-4. Jack continued his working career at Electronic Data Systems as a Systems Analyst until his retirement in 1996. Jack enjoyed participating in archery competitions with his wife. He also enjoyed Scouting with his two sons where he served as the troops’ Assistant Scout Master. Jack was also a talented artist and enjoyed painting pictures of the outdoors. Jack was preceded in death by his brothers Paul West, Jr., Bill West, Gary West, Jimmy West, and sister Alta DeCow. Jack is survived by his brother, Jesse West of Girard, Kansas and his sister Linda M. Keltner of Springfield, Missouri; son Jackie E. West, Jr. and his wife Shannon West, of Cartersville, Georgia; son Kenneth Gregory West, of Woodstock, Georgia; grandson Kenneth Gregory West, Jr. and wife Hannah West, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Care and trust placed with In Their Honor Funeral Home of Jasper, Georgia, and Paul Thomas Funeral Homes, of Miami, Oklahoma. The viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m., Friday April 7, 2023, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Oklahoma.
