James Mark Smith

James Mark Smith, 58, of Canton, GA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on May 30, 1964, to Alfred E. Smith and Margaret Jean Guthrie (Bennett) in Royston, GA. Mark loved to fish on the lake and be outdoors, whenever possible. He also enjoyed living life to the fullest. He was an avid NASCAR and UGA football fan. He was a loving son, brother, father, and Papa. Mark was preceded in death by his father Alfred E. Smith, step-father John C. Guthrie, and his beloved wife Roxy A. Smith. Mark is survived by his mother Margaret J. Guthrie, brother Alan “Scott” Smith (Julie), sister Tiffany J. Guthrie (Angie), daughter Brittany M. Barnes (Ryan), and son James “Mason” Smith (Jamie). He is also survived by his niece Samantha A. Smith and nephew Taylor J. Prichard. Mark was also the Papa of his beloved grandchildren McKenzie, Madilynne, Malaysia, Nevaeh, Haisley, Delany, and Mia.
