Jonnie Janene Salas of Big Canoe, GA passed away peacefully at her home on July 03, 2021. She was surrounded with love by her husband, two daughters, son, and son-n-laws. Visitation will be held on July 09, 2021 from 4:00-7:00p.m. at In Their Honor Funeral Home in Jasper, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for July 10, 2021 at 11:00a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper, GA. Jonnie Salas was born in Marion, Indiana to Don and Betty Grant on May 27, 1947. She attended Chamberlain High School in Tampa ,FL, class of 1967. Jonnie married Jose’ Salas on March 29, 1975 in Tampa, FL. Together they resided in FL for 33 years before moving to Big Canoe, GA. Jonnie was a successful realtor and broker for 25 years. She was involved in her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi and also was involved in various clubs at the Bradenton Yacht Club, including President of the Galley Maids. Jonnie is preceded in death by her Father, Don Grant, Mother, Betty Grant, and brother, Robert VanDoren. Jonnie is survived by her husband, Jose’ Salas, daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joseph Booth, daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and William Hodges, and son, Joseph Salas. Her grandchildren, Jessica House, Wesley Sharpe, Reaves Hodges, Alena Hodges, and Colby Hodges. Her great grandchildren, Jaden House, Connor House, and Ava Sharpe. Pallbearers are Joseph Salas, William Hodges, Joseph Booth, Wesley Sharpe, Will Adams ,and Jason Sasser.
The family would also like to extend an invitation for a celebration of life at 61 Main in Jasper, GA starting at 1:00 on Saturday, July 10th. Please come by and enjoy some food and drink as we remember Jonnie.
