Kenneth Wayne Lee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a dedicated serviceman, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Temple, Georgia, at the age of 85. He was born on January 16, 1940, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Kenneth will be remembered for his immense love for his family, especially his cherished granddaughter, Allison. His caring nature and commitment to his loved ones were at the center of his life. Kenneth’s strong bonds with his beloved wife, Sheila, and his sons, David and Darren, enriched his days and filled his heart with joy.
A proud veteran, Kenneth served as a Captain in the US Army, where he piloted the OV-1 Mohawk and helicopters during his notable service. He completed two tours in Vietnam and was recognized for his bravery and skill in the line of duty, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Stars (one with Valor), three Purple Hearts, along with Commendation and Air Medals. His military service was not just a chapter in his life but a reflection of his bravery and dedication.
In addition to his military accomplishments, Kenneth was a passionate individual who found joy in woodworking and boating. These hobbies provided him with a creative outlet and opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, often sharing these experiences with family and friends.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila; sons, David and Darren; daughter-in-law, Lisa; granddaughter, Allison; and grandsons, Christian and Cohen Cornwell. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd John Lee; mother, Mary Evelyn Lee; and sister, Mary Sue Quinn.
Kenneth Wayne Lee will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, courage, and skill will continue to inspire and resonate with family and friends for generations to come.
