Mark was born on a warm fall day in Lake City, Florida to his mother Sylvia Miles and father H.L. Thomas. Mark was raised in Providence, Florida, with his brother Devin H. Thomas, where their parents owned and operated a dry cleaning business. Shortly after graduating high school in Union County, Florida Mark started working in communications with Alltel Telephone Company. Mark did some subcontracting work in North Florida, and later found his calling in Law Enforcement and retired from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Mark and his beautiful bride, Kimberly, moved to Ellijay, GA in 2017. He began working at Piedmont Hospital in public safety and loved his Piedmont family. Mark passionately loved his family and friends and was devoted to his village. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, marksmanship, serving his community and neighbors and was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, grandmother and various family members and friends. Mark’s legacy will live on through his wife, Kimberly Nye Thomas, sons, Bradley Keil Snider (Erin), Christopher Miles Thomas (Kalen), Kurt Michael Thomas, Mother-in-love, Karen Adams and four grandchildren. Mark was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and all of his many friends.
