Peter A. Oneill

Peter A. O'Neill, age 81, of Canton GA, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, June 27, 2022. Pete was born on January 15, 1941, in Philadelphia. He had 35 years of faithful Federal Government service. He also served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. Pete married Pat on May 22, 1965 and were the love of each other's lives for 57 years. They were blessed to raise 2 daughters and 1 son. Pete was a devout Catholic and had long been an active member of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. He enjoyed his time with Our Lord in monthly adoration. Pete's happiest times were spent with his loving family always firmly by his side. It was truly beautiful watching his relationship deepen with each of his grandchildren as they grew. Whether near or far, "Poppy's" humor, guidance and love were always present in their daily lives. Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Pat, daughters Lauren (Todd) Kelley, Jennifer (Dean) Carnival, son Greg O'Neill and 6 grandchildren, Megan Kelley, Jenna Carnival, Dean Carnival, Grace Carnival, Kiley O'Neill and Aidan O'Neill. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, 1908 Waleska Highway 108, Jasper, GA.
