Mr. RichardGordon Simpson, age 80, considering himself a citizen of the World, passed awayThursday, May 9, 2024.  Richard was bornon December 7 th , 1943 in Lynn, MA, the son to the late James HannahSimpson and Elaine Alberta Cook.

Richard hoping tosee the world, joined the service and was a marine. Not suiting him he washonorably discharged.

Finding himselfin Canada he met his wife-to-be, Elaine Pelletier. Together, they married earlyin life and they had a daughter, Lani Vivit-Simpson in 1968. Moving severaltimes together, Elaine ultimately landed in Spokane, WA. Richard continued totravel. He said he had a wanderlust and couldn’t be still.

He received hisdegree as a Psychotherapist which gave him many avenues, including writing abook, and becoming a hypnotherapist. Richard even had a 1-800 line to help people in hypnosis late in hiscareer.

Being a Pilot wasthe love of his life; holding pilot licenses in 3 different countries: Germany,Spain, and the United States. He got to travel the World; see and experiencethings most of us dream about… living in several different countries throughouthis life.

Richard moved toEllijay, GA to finish out his days; it ended up being the longest he resided inany city in his life.

An avid storyteller,Richard could tell you stories for days and days, sharing his life experienceswith you.

Along with his parents, Richard is preceded indeath by sister, Dorothy Diane Beaurpe (Simpson), and half-sisters, Billie JeanSimpson and Cary Ann Bird (Simpson); his half-brothers, James Harold Simpson andJoseph Allen Simpson. He is survived by his daughter, Lani Laganowski(Vivit-Simpson); his sister, Pamela R Laterza (Simpson) and half-sisters,Daurena Joy Chase (Simpson), Kathleen S. Betz (Simpson) and Sharon LeeStephenson (Simpson); two grandchildren, Hunter and Gatlin Orton; greatgranddaughters, who all live in Spokane WA with Elaine Vivit (Pelletier) andmany half nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
