Richard Quinn (Dick) Boyles, 93, of Oriental, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia died Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Provident Village, Canton, Georgia.

He was preceded in death in 2014 by his wife of 62 years, Rosemond Campbell Boyles.  Dick was a veteran of the Navy and served during WWII. After the war, he graduated from Georgia Tech and was an aeronautical engineer with Lockheed Martin in Los Angeles, CA and Marietta, GA.  When he retired, he and Rosemond settled in Oriental, NC in 1988 and were very active in the community.  Dick suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and moved to a retirement home in Canton, Georgia in 2020 to be closer to his children.

He is survived by his two sons, Alan Boyles (Andrea) of Roswell, Georgia, Bruce Boyles (Robin) of Jacksonville, Florida, his daughter, Carol Hall (Mike) of Jasper, Georgia, his niece and adopted daughter, Robin Layton (Dave) of Sonoma, California, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

We met Dick about thirty years ago when he was building his home here in Oriental.  Over the years we had shared golf, sailing,  many discussions and happy times. We will continue to miss Dick and we send our sincere condolences for this loss to you, his family.
