Robert Ewing Albrecht
It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Robert “Bob” Ewing Albrecht, age 76, of Chatsworth, Georgia announces his passing on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Bob was born on June 6, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son to the late Henry Albrecht and Doris Ewing Albrecht. Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Albrecht, and his brother, James “Jimmy” Albrecht.
Bobs family owned and operated the Candy Kettle in downtown Atlanta (near the Richs Department Store) where they sold homemade stick candies and chocolates. He graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta before being drafted by the Army into the Vietnam War. He then went on to have a long career and early retirement at Delta Air Lines.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Bob. He loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals when his daughter and granddaughters visited. At Christmas, he was the one who wanted to prepare a huge Prime Rib with homemade horseradish sauce. He also loved spending time digging in the dirt. He was an avid gardener, and his yard was a masterpiece.
He is survived by his daughter: Amy R. Bauer-Berry (Richard), of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Victoria Berry, of Atlanta, and Savannah Margaret Tello Rodriguez (Heli), of Atlanta, and his sister, Dorothy Lee Albrecht Bugg (Sydney) of Blue Ridge, Georgia.
There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to Trees Atlanta. https://www.treesatlanta.org/support-us/donate/
