Robert J.F. Brown of Ellijay, Georgia passed away suddenly at age 75 on December 10, 2020 at Assured Hospice in Cartersville, Georgia. Cremation will be conducted by In Their Honor Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia. According to Robert’s wishes, no public viewing or services will take place before the cremation.
Robert was born on August 28, 1945 in Nottingham, England to John Frank Brown and Stella Irene Sandall. His father was in the Army Air Corp stationed in England during WWII and his mother was a resident in Nottingham. Robert’s mother immigrated to Ohio shortly after WWII. Robert graduated from Xenia High School in 1963 and attended colleges at Dayton Art Institute, Antioch College in Yellow Springs and spent 4 years at Wright State University. Robert had a robust job history starting at the age of 5, from sweeping grain in an Ohio mill to working in his retirement for the Sheriff’s Department in Forsyth County Georgia court system. His most notable and cherished position was working for Georgia Pacific Corporation for over 25 years, a Fortune 50 company at that time. He worked his way up the ranks to become National Sales Manager of Industrial Products for Distribution Division in the Atlanta Corporate Offices. Robert has worked all over the U.S. with Georgia Pacific and has traveled the world in his official capacity.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, John Frank Brown; his mother Stella Irene Sandall Brown Fudge; his stepfather Donald Elsworth Fudge; his brother Donald Terry Fudge. He is survived by his wife, Joan C.W. Parker (Parrish); his children Robert J.F. Brown, Mark Stephen Parrish and Marie Christina Parrish Merjanian (Gomez); and three grandchildren, Isabel Marie Brown, Elliana Claire Gomez and Chance Raven Merjanian. Also surviving are Robert’s siblings: Deborah Lynn Fudge McIntire (Timothy Patrick) of Florida, Brenda Irene Fudge Stilwell (Robert Clayton) of Texas and Michael Lee Fudge (Theresa Finlay) of Ohio. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and great uncle, he will be sorely missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, it is Robert’s wish that a donation to a favored charity be made in his name.
