Steve Boyd Wadley passed away on January 20, 2023, at the age of 65 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA.

Born on May 26, 1957, in Lawton Oklahoma, he was the youngest child of Theodore Carroll Wadley and Ann Camp Braselton Wadley. Steve attended The University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in business in 1979. He married the love of his life, Jill Shuey, in April of 1986. They settled in Atlanta and went on to have two children, Nick and Sam.

Steve was a family man in every sense, always willing to go the extra mile for his loved ones. Steve had a larger than life spirit and was always in the pursuit of fun. He never took himself too seriously and that made him so easy to be around. He loved coaching his kids' sports teams and staying up late to help with homework. In 2022, he and Jill moved from Atlanta to Ellijay, GA, to be close to their three grandchildren, Theo, Caleb, and Luke.

A consummate businessman and entrepreneur, Steve started and sold many successful businesses and above all enjoyed the relationships he was able to build along the way. The entrepreneur in him could never quit. Even after his “retirement,” he started a family business with his daughter Sam and son-in-law Damon, in Ellijay, GA.

A man of generous heart, he routinely blessed those around him and was involved in many organizations that were dear to him, including The Kindezi Schools and The Atlanta Music Project.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; his daughter, Sam; her husband, Damon; three grandchildren, Theo, Caleb, and Luke; his brother, Ted Wadley and wife Regina Imbsweiler; his sister Ellen Whisenant and her husband Jonny; his sister-in-law Barbara Pagano and her husband John; and his six nieces and nephews, Anna W. Bardaus, Jessica Heller, Eva Imbsweiler, Sarah Bentley, Adam Wadley, and Jon Whisenant.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and "funcle," he will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

A memorial service, followed by a reception for friends and family, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30342 .
