Thomas Fuller Choyce

Thomas Fuller Choyce, aged 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Jasper, Georgia, while he was at home in hospice care surrounded by his family. Tom was born on June 26, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edgar L. and Alice Dayment Choyce. Later, his family moved to Decatur, Georgia, where Tom attended Decatur Boys High School, the University of Georgia, and Emory Law School.

After completing his education, Tom practiced law in Atlanta as a city attorney and then in private practice. In 1961, he married Mariette Perkins Choyce, and they had four children and ten grandchildren.

Tom is preceded in death by his brother Hal Choyce of Montgomery, Alabama, and is survived by his wife Marietta and four children:

- George and Anne Statham Choyce of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their children, Neil and Marlie Patton Choyce, Kelly Choyce, Drew Choyce, and Preston Choyce

- Elizabeth and Eric Miller of San Diego, California. Their children, Kylie and Macallan

- Michael Choyce of Atlanta, Georgia. His children Evah and Eyrn

- Christopher and Marlene Powers Choyce of Chesapeake, Virginia. Their children, Christian and Mason

Tom was an enthusiastic golfer, a proud Georgia Bulldog, and enjoyed using old tools to do chip carvings on wood. He also coached little league and baseball for his children. Tom was very active in the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, GA, and later at Holy Family Episcopal Church in Jasper, GA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 15, at 2:00 PM at Holy Family Episcopal Church in Jasper, GA.
