William (Bill) L. Umbaugh

William L. Umbaugh, age 83, of Big Canoe, Georgia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 13th, 2022.
Bill was born on April 7th, 1939 in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Bates Umbaugh; his daughters: Renee Mizzel (Tony) of Springfield, Virginia and Christa Valentine of Burke, Virginia; his grandchildren: Jacob Ragusa, Maggie and Audrey Valentine; his brothers: Dan, Tom and Ray (Ted) and his sister, Doris Jean.
After working at Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania throughout his youth, Bill begun a successful career tract in aviation including 36 years working for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Bill loved his travels to beaches all over the globe, he enjoyed running, collecting antiques and during his retirement he enjoyed golfing, solitaire and walking his puppy in Big Canoe.
Bill died of complications from PSP: an orphan disease.
He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed.
